LAFF (Life After Fifty-Five) Ministries
LAFF (Life After Fifty-Five)
The purpose of the LAFF (Life After Fifty-Five) Ministry of First Baptist Church Crosby is to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of our Adults 55 and older. We will be intentional partners in ministry with the entire church. We will be looking at areas where God is working and will be working under His guidance to establish both long and short term ministries.
We have a LAFF Planning Team consisting of the directors of Adult 5 & 6 and some other at-large members. The Team surveys the needs and provides ministry ideas for our Adults 55 and older. We cooperate with the San Jacinto Baptist Association Senior Adult Council to enable us to interact with other Senior Adult ministries of our Association.
Some of the areas and activities in which we are involved:
*Homebound Ministry
*Widows Ministry
*Service Ministry
*Fellowship Ministry
*Providing Shut-In Meals
*Short & Long Trips
Contact Bro. Gene for more information on any of these ministries.

CANCER CARE MINISTRY
"When a person is first diagnosed with cancer it is devastating", says Debbie
Holden. “Since I’ve been there I know this as a fact. My desire is to comfort that person and their family.” The ministry of caring has been a part of First Baptist since its beginning over 90 years ago. This Cancer Care Ministry will, under the leadership of Debbie, focus on those at the first diagnosis of cancer. When one is first diagnosed, preferably before their surgery or treatment begins, a Comfort Basket will be delivered by some of our team members who have battled cancer and understand the feelings, questions and fears. So, here’s what is needed.
1. Some of you who have battled cancer and have pushed through the surgery or treatments to go with Debbie to deliver the Comfort Baskets.
2. Volunteers who can gather the items for the Baskets.
3. Volunteers who can put the Baskets together.
A list of basket items will be posted on the bulletin board by the church office. If you are interested in being a part of this special Cancer Care Ministry, please contact Debbie Holden at jujuco_tx@yahoo.com
