The first person you usually see when you walk into the church office is Karen Vandagriff, who has been Staff Secretary at FBC since June 1, 1997. Besides greeting folks and answering the phones, she is  responsible for maintaining membership records and the church calendar, preparing reports, and publishing anything that has to do with communication: the monthly newsletter, weekly worship bulletin, various mail-outs, and the church website.

A member of FBC Crosby since 1985, Karen is active in adult music ministries and serves as Sunday School Superintendent. Karen is also a volunteer at Churches United in Caring. She has previously taught in children and youth Sunday School, children's choir and hand chimes, been children's missions director and GA leader, and was a long-time youth worker.   

Karen has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Information Systems/Network Administration from San Jacinto College. She and husband Mike have been residents of Newport for more than 32 years. They consider themselves blessed to be parents of Harley and his wife Liz, Nonni & Pop to grandson Will (born May 26,2009) and grand-dog Bandit (Will's proud big "sister")!
