Glorieta Mission Trip
August 3-10, 2012

Purpose:
Our mission team will have sole responsibility for providing a day camp/VBS/child care-type ministry for 100 or more children and preschoolers at the National Collegiate Conference at the Glorieta Conference Center. These are the children of Baptist collegiate campus ministers from across the nation. Our ministry will enable the participants to bring their whole families to the conference, which is the largest of its kind in North America.

Place:
Glorieta is a beautiful place located 25 miles northeast of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Go to GlorietaConferenceCenter.org to check it out.

Price:
This partially depends on your housing choice. You can tent camp, take your RV, stay in a rustic cabin or a dorm, and go for $100 per person. This will also cover your meals at Glorieta and your t-shirt.
Transportation:
Our church can provide transportation for 20 people. If you choose to fly or drive on your own, our church will provide $100 per person to help defray the transportation cost.

Who can go:
This is a "family type" mission trip. Youth or children must be accompanied by at least one parent.

Minister to the homeless of Houston - Travel to the "Church Under the Bridge" in Houston to worship and minister. If you would like to go, just show up at FBC at 8:00am; the group will be back around 1:00pm or so. We have volunteers that put together "supply bags" to hand out. Right now we have plenty of soap and lip balm. Immediate needs are: toothbrushes and toothpaste, socks and underwear, hats/head coverings, and travel-size lotions, shampoo, conditioner, small combs, deodorant, and other miscellaneous personal care items. You can bring these to the church office any time during office hours.
